CSE deals with core of Computers, including how they work from Hardware to Software. CS engineers will engineer the systems.
while
IT deals with the application part of Computers, Example- If a Company Shifts to Online system, an IT engineer will use different applications and develop a different software for that specific task.
When coming to the placement IT companies will come for placement to recruit both CSE and IT students. So there will be no difference in placements.
So i suggest you if you take IT then you learn coding and someother applications which can be learned easily from CSE .
