Theoretically yes, but there are practical challenges to it, students who have attended Phase-I have also registered for Phase-II in which they will be having a preference. So you will be preceded by Phase-I students, some of the streams will be over before you even start your counselling.
You should check out my answer on the status of seat availability after day-4 of Phase-I counselling, I have also indicated which of the programs are likely to be available in Phase-II counselling
Vasanthan Ramakrishnan’s answer to How many seats are left after phase 1 counselling in vit 2016?
I’ll give you a re-cap anyways, but for a detailed explanation check the above answer.
- Mechanical Engineering (ME) – seats over after day-4 but somewhere close to 100 seats if not more might be added for Phase-II students. But be warned some of the Phase-I students have registered to attend the Phase-II counselling as well, so they may be trying for Mechanical.
- Computer Science & engineering (CSE) – seats over after day-4 but more seats might be added but same case as mechanical, many Phase-I students registered so chances are not likely.
- Electronics & Communication engineering (ECE) – seats over after day-4 but more seats might be added, so students with ranks not more than 30k have a high prospect of getting ECE.
