NEET:

AIIMS exam is conducted for only one institute and has a high reputation. However, the recent addition has a lot to prove. Top 3 AIIMS are world class. The recent included AIIMS has to prove in terms of infrastructure, faculty and patient load.

NEET: This is conducted for All India and one has to get around 90 percentile to get into government colleges. Even to get admission into private colleges under management quota, one has to qualify in NEET.

COMED K: This exam is conducted for Karnataka State for admissions into 19 private medical colleges.

Now, coming to your question, which one is better among the three?
First AIIMS, Second NEET and third COMED K.
Again it depends on which AIIMS, you are getting the seat.
Top government colleges are better than the last 5 AIIMs institutes.
If you can afford, the top private colleges under COMED K is better than the last rung government medical colleges.

So, work hard and try to top and who have the options wide open. If your rank is bad, you got to take whatever is left out.

Stay focussed and do well in the exams.

All the best,

In India, aspiring medical students have several entrance examinations to choose from, primarily AIIMS, NEET, and COMED-K. Each exam has its unique structure, competition level, and admission criteria.

Below is an updated overview of these examinations based on the latest data.

AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences)
      Number of Colleges: 15
      Number of Seats: 1207
Number of Students Applied: Approximately 150,000 (as of 2024) 1.
      Competition Ratio: 1:375
      Exam Pattern:
      Total Questions: 200
Duration: 3 hours and 20 minutes
Scoring: +1 for correct answers, -0.33 for incorrect answers, and 0 for unanswered questions 5.
      Fees: Approximately ₹1,700 for General category; ₹1,600 for OBC/EWS; ₹1,000 for SC/ST/PwD 12.
AIIMS is known for its high reputation and quality of education. The top three AIIMS institutes are globally recognized. However, newer AIIMS need to enhance their infrastructure and faculty to match the established ones.

NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test)
      Number of Colleges: 192
      Number of Seats:
Government Colleges: AQI: 4129; State Quota: 23,378

Number of Students Applied: Approximately 1,326,725 1.
      Competition Ratio: 1:45
      Exam Pattern:
      Total Questions: 180
      Duration: 3 hours
Scoring: +1 for correct answers, -0.25 for incorrect answers, and 0 for unanswered questions.
NEET is the primary examination for admission into government medical colleges across India. A score above the 90th percentile is typically required for government college admissions.

COMED-K (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka)
      Number of Colleges: 19
      Number of Seats: 700
Number of Students Applied: Approximately 35,000 1.

COMED-K is specific to Karnataka and primarily caters to private medical colleges.
      Conclusion
When evaluating which examination is better among AIIMS, NEET, and COMED-K:
AIIMS is highly prestigious but limited to a few institutes. The choice depends significantly on which AIIMS you secure a seat in.
NEET provides broader access to government colleges and is essential for any private college admissions as well.
COMED-K, while offering fewer colleges, can be a good option if you aim for private institutions in Karnataka.
Ultimately, success in these exams requires diligent preparation and a clear understanding of the competition landscape. Aim high and prepare well to maximize your options!
