I would use the word “chaos” to describe the placement season at SRM during my time.
Some students were worried about their gpa , some were not , some were worried about when they will get placed, some were just chilled and relax and were not even bothered about placements . Some just wanted a degree and go back home . It was a hectic phase when we were being burdened by the placements exam every day and also we had to cope up with the srm studies because we didn’t wanted to drop our gpa .
I ended up getting rejected from 2 super dream companies with a package of somewhere between 8–13 lakhs on the first day of placements.
During placements your attendance gets affected , your studies of 7th sem get affected , you morale gets down after facing continuous rejections , you curse yourself for not being good enough .
But you have to sit patiently and wait for your turn , sometimes you have to study till 3–4 in the morning just to clear that first round of online test which every company takes .
To sum up , I would say SRM is a crowded place , and it is getting packed more and more by passing years . Things aren’t gonna be easy for the upcoming batches , but if you will be patient enough and be determined good things will happen .
P.S – I ended up getting placed with a dream offer at a financial firm in the month of September 2017 , after getting rejected from 24 companies , clearing online test of 14 companies and reaching final rounds of 6 companies .
