What is the difference between Computer Engineering and Information Technology and if there is any then why both have same syllabus in india?

No difference. they exist so that engineering colleges can admit more students and make more money. AICTE won’t permit more than X students in a branch per college. There should really be no separate IT engineering. There should not be a separate electronics, electrical, instrumentation, computer and IT engineering. There should just be a 1. Electrical engineering and a 2. Computer Science and engineering department. The small differences in the above multiple branches should be made up by introducing elective subjects in 3rd and 4th year.
