What is the difference between category 1 and category 2 at VIT?

Depending upon your ranking u will be called for either phase 1 or phase 2 counselling and the category system start from the Phase 2 counselling . After all the seats in Phase 1 counselling ( 1–20k rank ) are filled , phase 2 counselling starts . Some seats are left for each category with and increase in the tution fee . The category 1 fee is generally around 1.9–2 lakh per annum and the category 2 fees is about 2.5 lakh per annum
