So, first we’ll be dealing with the hostels located inside:-
- Hostels located inside the premises don’t have very strict rules.
- You can roam in the campus for as long as you want (unlike the girls because they have some limited time fix till which they can roam).
- During class hours, i.e. till 4:30 pm in the week days, you are not allowed to enter the campus in sleepers and without ID card to ensure proper safety and security.
- You are not allowed to leave the college until and unless you have taken a gate pass from the warden. Sometimes your warden may even contact your parents that your child wants to go at this particular place. So shall I allow him or not. So keep this thing in mind. And yes if you want to take leave from college and go somewhere then you must have a signed application from your department’s HOD, then only you’ll be getting the gate pass.
- Once you get the gate pass please ensure that while going out you are getting it checked by the guards and try not loosing it because if you loose it then you’ll me made to write an application and bla bla bla.
- No day scholars (the one’s not staying at hostels) are allowed to enter the hostel premises or to stay in any of the rooms of the hostels ( but as you know we love to break the rules ).
- You are allowed to take food from mess only if you are having your own plates or lunch box. Warden will allow to take the food in the plates of mess only if any of your roommate is sick.
- You are required to mark your attendance every evening between 7:30 pm and 9 pm. Failing to do so will not lead you to be in a serious trouble. Just your warden will be asking you where were you yesterday or sometines if he is too free then he’ll be coming to your room and ensure you are in the room or not.
- During winters timing of hot water from the geysers is fixed.
- No student is allowed to use items like heating rod, iron, induction but we are like who cares✌️. So just if you are using it, use it in a way so that warden does not see it.
- One advantage is that staying inside the campus helps you in waking up at 9:20 am and attend the classes at 9:30 am .
Now, the rules for the hostels outside the campus:-
- Unlike the hostels inside the campus, timing is fixed for you to roam here and there due to which hostel becomes jail sometimes.
- CU’s buses are there for you to take you back to hostels if you wish to but they have some fixed timing. Like if the bus has to ply at 5 pm, then you can’t go at 4 pm even if your classes are over. You have to wait till 5 pm or till whatever the time your bus will ply.
- And the other rules are same just like the hostels inside the campus.
So, I would recommend you to stay in the hostels located inside the campus until and unless you don’t want to make your life stay in a jail and to make your hostel life full of fun.
