Civil engineering packages are pretty low as compared to CS packages from Pilani. But they are all right if entire engineering community of engineers is considered.
Average package for civil is usually around 5.5 lpa.However lot of civil students prefer doing some finance courses and work in banks or consultancies where they get higher package. Some prefer to study further or go for MBA or gate etc. One of the reasons for this is may be that, very few core civil companies come for campus placements.
