Let me tell you a story of a friend from college , the story is gonna be a bit long so have some patience .
4 years ago he came to SRM with a lot of expectations . He had only one motive and that was to “study” . He also used to regard all the things mentioned above as inappropriate .
But life had some other plans for him . He saw that people here are very open-minded according to the Indian society . People tried to befriend him , but he didn’t wanted to be in their influence . So for the 1st year he only hung around with a few friends .
2nd year came his gpa started deteriorating but he was doing nothing except studies . So one day he decided to go for a run in the dental ground , but because he was overweight people in the ground made fun of his shabby body . He was disappointed . For the first time in his life he wanted to have someone near him with whom he could share this feeling , but there was no one. He started working out . Everyday after college he used to go to the gym , and rest of his 6th semester went like that.
3rd year came and now he started feeling a change in himself . He started talking to people more confidently , his grades started going up , for the first time he was feeling so good . He made some new friends. Those friends used to do most of the above mentioned things and he still likes them .
4th year came placement started , against most of the people’s expectations that guy got into the top 200 coder training . Now he wasn’t obese and was confident and got a decent job too . At last he graduated with those friends he made in the college life who used to do all the above mentioned “inappropriate” things and still came out as a clean guy . And moreover he was very thankful to the God for sending him those friends because they motivated him and gave him life advices .
Inshort , his story only taught me one thing
College life is very beautiful . You can go to any college and you will find people doing all these things there , but it doesn’t mean that those people are bad . Your life depends purely on the desicions you make . Most of his friends also got good jobs/colleges and are living a decent life now .
Now that friend only has one motto in life
