Let me start with a Disclaimer: I do NOT have first hand experience of the US medical system. But I decided to answer anyway based on what I know of it from a large number of close friends now in the States.
I decided to list the factors I thought of when deciding to stay here. And add what I think about those now after a few years. In the end, the choice is entirely Yours.
1. What do you want?
In spite of what I hear from various agencies it is hard to get into a surgical branch in the USA for FMGs. Really hard. Some of my friends who started out wanting surgery ended up settling for internal medicine. If you are a knife fanatic like me, you would find the going tough to get what you need. Pg in India allows you that choice as well.
2. Where do you want to end up?
If you plan to settle In India, PG here is easier. I am yet to know of any senior or colleague who has returned after MLE. Though many doctors have much later in their career.
