Let me also put up some points.
- (Some)Young teachers/professors with less knowledge on the subject. what i mean is, some of the teachers are masters’ graduates of the CU itself, they learn the subject from w3schools/tutorials point etc and copy the same during lectures, trust me i didnt even hear a single word during lectures in my last 4 semesters, google taught me, or i taught myself. Anyways another thing is since they are not professionals they wont be tagged to one subject every year/semester they teach different subject.
- campus, its just for a show, because you will never be free enough to stay at campus “free”, official timings are from 9:30 to 4:20 and these hours are filled with different lectures like in school. Even if you get free before 4:20 by chance they wont let you roam around or stay at campus for “unknown” reasons before approx 2 in noon. Also they close the doors of the blocks at 9:30 am so if you’re late even by 5 minutes will miss your lectures.
- syllabus, oh my god how do i tell you, its like if you go there for engineering you will be treated like you went there to enhance your capabilities to cram the theory of subjects which do not even matter in engineering, like EVS etc.
- As an aspiring engineer you should know how to code in different languages, how to apply data structures, know what is competitive programming, how to reduce complexities of a program, how organisations work but nothing they will teach you nothing, i mean not to be controversial they have these subjects like java programming and etc but who can learn java from a lecture and making files, oh files that’s another point.
- Assignments, this is the thing you are going to hate the most in CU, assignments and practical files are like holiday homework to all the teachers, 15 subjects = 15 assignments = 15 files (with correct formatting and font size and all shit or they will ask you to do it again, which they will dump one day) = time of only 1 week. You will be exhausted completing only the assignments and you will be left with no time for your self study or any other activity you want to do and your savings/expenses will be lost on buying these files. Trust me its school, even schools are better.
- I don’t know why but the cu staff administration (like education department medical, financial, all) they like to confuse students very much and then like to see us running from one block to another if you get into some problem or to get a document from college may it be any, like clearing your medical or getting NOC. I mean for everything you’ll have to run from one block to another some of which are indeed kms apart.
- You have to maintain 75% attendence or else you’ll be debarred, you have to attend a useless event or else you’ll be debarred, again they will debar you for any chance they will get. We had to live under fear of being debarred and depressed when we were there.
- And other things are same as i read on other reviews, uni is between a village no proper settlements for around 5–8 kms on both sides, campus is expensive, hostels are mess, and a lot of things which i forgot/ or i cannot share.
