If SRM University is so bad, why do some students and parents prefer it?

Nobody prefers it. They just take it because they dont have a better option. With so much talent and competition , only a handful get elite institutes , and given a choice , anybody who knows anything would prefer an NIT or IIT .I have studied in An IIT , I have studied in a private institute , the only thing diffrent between these two is fees. SRM (Brand) is not so bad either. Decent labs , decent professors , decent decipline and decent placements but nothing too fancy , dont expect google or facebook or audi or BMW to hire you. Rarely happens ! Even in IITs ,They select international competition winners , design prodigies and people like that , this comparison manifesto is just an outcome of “The coaching Culture”. Knowledge is knowledge, no matter where you get it. Go for SRM if you can’t get anything “Government” . Not that it’s going to make a difference. But you will have a fair share of fun .
