How is the placement in chemical or mechanical engineering in RVCE? What is the average package like?

  • 0

Chemical Engineering- The placement of chemical engineering students are average, the total number of offers made are in between 45–55(total intake is around 60–70 students).Over the years, number of offers made to the students have increased gradually. The average package lies between ₹ 4.2–4.5 LPA. If you want to get into core then it’s quite difficult through campus placements, hardly 2–3 core companies pay visit to the campus but you have various other opportunities in the field of Business Analytics, IT &software profiles and consultacy, Business Development Executives etc.

Mechanical- Placements in mechanical is slightly better than Chemical ( in terms of core jobs), the total number of offers made are in between 100–140 but their intake is around 150–160. Mechanical students have more chances of getting placed into core jobs, as companies like Hyundai, Bosch, Toyota, Honda, Hero, Mercedes-Benz, Federal-Mogul etc often visit for the placements. At the same time you have options for other profiles which is mentioned above. You can say mechanical students have chances of getting placed in both core and non-core sector but chemical students have chances of getting placed mostly in non-core sector. The average package is ₹4.5–4.8 LPA.
