There are different opinions about ECE of people studying here. From my point of view , if you are really interested in this field , you can opt for ECE at IIITA. All subjects’ structures are according to IITs. Most of the profressors have done their PHDs from IIT itself. Also ,there are well equipped ECE labs.
Yes , there are some flaws , like you can complain about the teaching sometimes , but you have opted the electronics field on the basis of your interest . So your keen interest about learning and exploring will keep you in progress and there is full facility of internet and well maintained library to help. Moreover , self study always helps.
Considering ECE placements , few but good companies like qualcomm, samsung semiconductors visit IIIT Allahabad . If you have brushed up your skills and knowledge to a decent level as well as maintained the pointer criteria , chances of getting selected are high. Moreover, number of IT companies visiting for placements is much more than that of ECE. So most of the ECE students get placed in IT companies who prepare for them accordingly and sit in their placement rounds.
