Infrastructure: The buildings of most colleges are marvellous. No other word for it. So you are assured of a positive first impression. Most of the north campus colleges are heritage buildings. The old red brick structures which give them an aura of their own. Widespread lawns, extensive buildings abound. I am still mesmerized by the sight of KMC( only from the outside. Inside it is only crumbling walls and dilapidated structure). This description stands for only a handful of the colleges and most of them are the top ranked north campus and south campus colleges. The others tell tale of being a Government institution hands down. There are no compromises on basic services though. All colleges have proper sanitation, restrooms, medical facilities. The sports complex, cafeterias and libraries, which are spread over several storeys ( but which are rarely upgraded of their stock of book) cannot be denied a special mention.
Classes and teachings : The course structure and syllabi for most courses is impressive, and this is not rare in most other universities. However, it DOES NOT mean the classes are fun, courtesy: the faculty. Almost all classes imply a ppt of google copy – paste being run aimlessly until a topic heading gives way to just a link, then clarifications like ‘ I will edit these when I them to you’. Some gracious teachers read the slides to us.
