I’m a Freshman from Aerospace Dept from SRM Kattankulatur. To my knowledge there are two clubs which are currently active, one is SRM SAT and the other one is Aero modelling club. I’ll tell you about both the clubs.
SRM SAT – In 2013 they sent a nano satellite with the help of ISRO and it’s still in earth’s orbit. It’s a well known club. Almost every student has heard the name of the club.
Aero modelling club – It’s not as well known as SRM SAT but it’s one of the best clubs to be for an Aerospace guy/girl. You apply all the theories you have learnt and try to understand things practically. In Aero modelling club, we create RC planes, drones and participate in different competitions.
Based on your enthusiasm choose the clubs and it’s not that u can choose only one club. I know one senior who is in both the clubs. But after joining don’t take the club duties for granted and work hard to make club’s name more famous.
