The hostel is very neat, clean and well maintained, and has consistently ranked in the top 10 cleanest universities in MHRD rankings. You can file complaints on an online portal, be it for room cleaning or for cupboard rod replacements, and the response time is very low. The rooms are centrally air-conditioned / heated (Summer/Winter), and are extremely comfortable. All blocks have a vending machine in their vicinity, and there’s a night-canteen with restaurants like Dialog (Pizza), Dev (Sandwiches and Cold Coffee), Saras (Shakes and snacks) and much more open at night to satisfy all your night cravings.
There are around 20 outlets on campus, covering just about everything from Indian food to Momos to waffles, burgers, pizzas and sandwiches, and you’ll not be left wanting for variety. And if you’re, you can always hop over to the nearby Highway King, where you’ll find a lot of the crowd after exams.
You also get WiFi across campus, and it is speed limited at 5Mbps. It sometimes works well for months, but sometimes it is overloaded by traffic and drops to very slow speeds. If not anything, yoiu at least have the people who hoard TV Shows, Movies, and of course Coursera Courses (Rishi Bannerjee), so you have this sort of distributed offline network where you can get just about anything.
And if you’re a boy, you’ll have a lot of independence, since you can roam around the hostel campus at night, and you will certainly find yourself chilling with your friends at 3AM on a freezy winter night in front of Saras.
Overall
If you’ve read till here, I salute you, for this has been one very long answer, probably too long :). Anyways, it’s been a very fulfilling experience for me till now, and I hope it’ll be for you too. Cheers!
