Can an average student survive at CSE RVCE? Is life stressful? What subjects are taught in the 1st year?

Hey there!

Although I was an ECE student, I think I can give you a fair idea about what to expect in CSE as well.

Firstly, yes life at RVCE in general can be stressful since they don’t follow the usual VTU curriculum (being an autonomous college). So we had 3 internals, labs, externals etc for each subject apart from project work and self study. You might be a little overwhelmed initially but rest assured, you’ll eventually get accustomed to it. Even an average student can survive here, everyone needs to put in work to manage. And I think CSE should be less stressful than ECE (from what I’ve heard, at least).

Secondly, the subjects are common for all first years. You’ll have a Physics Cycle (lesser number of subjects and opportunity for half days) and a Chemistry Cycle (slightly more stressful because of more subjects). You will also have Mech Lab, CAD, PIC (C programming) Lab apart from Physics and Chem lab. But don’t worry, your first year will be a good
