Let me tell you something in advance; You ( the asker of the question ) already knew the answer of this question even before asking it, so don’t expect some kind of highly captivating answer from me. I’m just going to put forward my views and ideas for both the acclaimed institutions.
IIT Kanpur is a very old institute and has built its own reputation over this vast stretch of time. The fact that it’s a government institute makes it a highly reputable and prestigious institute all over India. No need to go on and on about IITK. Let’s talk about SNU.
Shiv Nadar University is a recently established university and is backed by Mr. Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL Enterprise (Yes, you can relate this with institutes like BITS). It is multidisciplinary and research focused university whose main goal is to impart actual education and promote research based learning. Your main subject(s) are one thing, and here you get to build a strong foundation of your discipline.
