It’s not the mentality of VIT actually. There are many others. In Vellore some hotels don’t allow bachelors. Most hotels in Tamil Nadu don’t allow unmarried couples and bachelors. They are very strict with their rules and prosperity.
They don’t want today’s youth to spoil their *Sanskriti* (Culture). In VIT the weird rules are made to maintain discipline in the campus. I know it’s too much. But they are very strict and remains intact with their rules.
It can’t be changed by us or with our suggestions. It’s the management who can take decisions.
Some rules are really good because in VIT you will never see any ragging or any political riots or goons entering the campus. It maintains a chill atmosphere in campus.
They have a strict rules for girls to maintain their safety. Seeing India’s present scenario and how rape cases and molestation are increasing day by day, I personally do feel the rules are completely justified. It’s completely my perspective may not match with yours. The parents are also satisfied with these rules and without any hesitation can send their daughters far from them where safety is given highest priority.
