Let’s assume you enter this grocery store to buy some noodles and your budget is Rs 20. Now you know that Nestle is a trusted brand and it’s Maggie noodles have to be good because you’ve tasted them yourselves. So you buy Maggie (cuz it’s within your budget) irrespective of all the brands like Top ramen, Yippe, Patanjali etc.

Now let’s assume Maggie noodles have been completely sold out due to high demand and if you’ve to buy them then you’ve to pay Rs 40. So instead you try the next best brand known to you let’s assume it’s Top ramen. Now due to high demand of Top ramen as well, it’s price shoots up. Various sales executive try to convince you about the other brands which are as good as Maggie and Top ramen. So you pick any other brand available. Now slowly and gradually, realising that demand of noodles is high, market is flooded with various brands. Over the time, there will come a point where this supply of noodles will exceed the demand so ultimately most of the stock of noodles will remain unsold.
