The simplest logic behind this, that i can think of, is the huge difference in the demand and the supply. Every year lakhs of students graduate in Computer Engineering, and yet there are only a handful of job openings available in the current situation.
Now that being said, if you are good enough with your knowledge, there are always opportunities waiting for you. Quality over quantity any day.
