…you see doing a MBA degree in itself is a achievement because not many can do MBA but then there are so many students who qualify, that the companies are now wanting to cut down on the intake and concentrate on quality. Many companies believe distance MBA isn’t good enough, well, they have the right to think so but does that mean everyone follows what the top dog says? not necessarily. There are many companies who take in students having distance MBA but they are very few in number. And even if they are chosen, their salary will be way less than what they are expecting. If the candidate can live with the decision of getting paid less in the beginning and earning more later on, then that would be awesome but they don’t think in that manner.
Now, mainly people do distance MBA because they are already working for a company and they had degrees like BBA or M. com and now the company wants them to get a MBA, so they do a distance MBA, as they have prior experience. In the end of the day, it’s the experience which matters, not the degrees. So, if one is a commerce student then they still have a chance of getting through into a good company and they can later on do a MBA either distance or working MBA. But many candidates, who are from the arts and humanities stream, need a MBA and they do it from IGNOU which is very very good and is very well respected and accepted everywhere! But everyone want’s a edge when it comes to job market…so they go to pvt. colleges where the fee is enormous to say the least and do their MBA in distance mode.
