IITs are just like trees bearing fruits like great placements, successful entrepreneurs, great scientists and great politicians. The tree will bear good fruits if it has got strong roots. These roots lie in novel professor selection process . That is the reason why 5 star engineering colleges fail to compete IITs even if they have all that infrastructural glamour. It is a case of an artificial good looking plants for decoration which can’t become a real tree bearing fruits.
The building needs a strong foundation to build up. The selection of a foundation material is necessary. The selection procedure of an IIT professor is one of the toughest selection procedures. It happens in several stages and takes 1 long year on finalizing a candidate for the asst. professor position.
Stage 1 : Application forms are accepted over year which requires follwing credentials
- Good academic record
- At least 1 degree from IIT/IISc is preferred
- At least 1 international degree is preferred
- Compulsory minimum 3 years of post doctoral experience
- Industry experience of more than 2 years is preferred
