Nitw has excellent placement statistics and excellent clubs and great infrastructure. But the most important reason for choosing nitw over iit dhanbad ( in my case and a lot of other people in my batch, most of us were getting the same branch in iit dhanbad. One of my friend was actually getting iit dhanbad cse but took admission in nitw ece) was the distance of college from major cities. Iit dhanbad has almost no it hubs or metropolitans in vicinity. You can certainly say Ranchi holds something for the future but right now it is simply not developed enough, certainly not when compared to Hyderabad. Closeness to a major it hub also becomes a big factor in placements. Nitw certainly would be in top ten in country for placements (its already topmost in nits and i don’t have detailed statistics so that “would be”).So, if you want great placements , research opportunities or want to have start up of your own a college in close vicinity to major town is the way to go. In this case NITW.
