The comparison between good educational institutions is difficult because it depends on what basis you are comparing them.
But you have asked this question I will give you a rough idea based on few major things to consider like placement, fee.
First of all if you are talking about NIT’s then consider only top 5 NIT’s. After top 5 NIT’s it not a good idea to go for Mtech. (personal opinion) .
Now talking about BITS. It’s one of the premier institution and if you are talking about it then you know its value.
The fee is definitely high compared to other institution but it’s one of its kind. Talking about education and placements — Ya, you get almost 100% placement until you are from chemical branch. The placement scenario for M.E is equivalent to top NIT’s and IIT’s so no need to worry about it. Education standards are also good and and life is fun here. No restriction on daily routine except campus leaving timings. (ya , that sucks sometime.)
You will get enough competition and resources to learn and evolve. Rather than normal academics you can also be a part of various other programs to prove yourself.
