Depends on where you do
Both are equivalent post graduate medical degrees offered by two different bodies. MD/MS by the MCI, DNB by the National board. MD/MS courses are run only in Medical College Hospital’s. The quality of your MD/MS is dependent on the case exposure that you get in them.
DNB courses were started to tap the potential that exist in large hospitals (which are not attached to medical colleges) which see larger number of patients, more variety of patients and do hell lot of cutting edge treatment than medical colleges.
So, DNB graduates in medical specialties carry very good practical clinical skills than do MD graduates, but in surgical skills, MS graduates fair better since free hands in learning surgical skills are given in medical colleges. Again this is solely dependant on the place where they do that.
In a nutshell, doing a DNB in a public (like ESI Hospital, Railway Hospital) or charity run hospital – better than – MD/MS in govt medical College – better than – DNB in corporate Hospital – better than – MD/MS in private medical College…
