I’m not sure one is better. They’re both very different degrees. It’d be a bit like asking “which is better, Neurology or Psychiatry?” I mean, they both are Medical Doctors who specialize in the brain, but that’s about where it stops.
Computer Engineers will work on very low level systems – Think binary, assembly language, writing software for processors that aren’t even necessarily computer or phone related. Every computer chip in every car, appliance, security system, TV, you name it. Every one has some level of programming sitting right on top of the processors that operate that hardware.
Computer Science, on the other hand, is a bit further up generally. Websites, Apps, APIs, Games, etc. Of course there are some CS fields doing lower level work, but generally it’s not as close to the hardware.
Computer Engineering is the “bridge” between CS and EE in many ways. It’s not better or worse than CS, just very different.
If you’re wondering, there probably are more CS jobs out there, and it’ll be easier to work into higher paying ones in that field as well. Before I piss off a CE major, let me say that CE has plenty of opportunities and many CEs make a fortune, I’m just saying overall here.
