In terms of placements almost all iits are best. For all iits taken as a whole the average package for mtech graduate was ranging from 38 lakhs to 5.5 crores. Some of my friends who graduated even from new NITs have grabbed package close to 20 lakhs. And placements in old nits is far more.
Thirdly in terms of research all iits have w9rld class infrastructure with Hugh end machines at their disposal so that is definitely not a concern.
