I’ve got a CompE degree. Learning to microcode assembler turned out to be pretty useless, as “firmware” changed to “tiny linux machine” within ten years of graduating.
Either way, you’ll have to refresh your technology knowledge every couple years. CompE had a slight advantage with work visas.
