Just look at the cutoffs it explains all the story in itself.

CSE COMPARISON

IIT PATNA Est. Since 2008, IIT(ISM) Est. Since 1926(computer science since 1999) . I’m not even required here to say that which would have a bigger alumni base.
IIT(ISM) has one of the best student-faculty ratio among all IITs, not only IIT PATNA.
NOW COMING TO CUTOFFS : IIT PATNA-27 general seats took them from AIR 1942-AIR 3298 whereas IIT(ISM)-51 general seats took them from AIR 1350-AIR 3376. Just imagine where the closing rank could have gone if IIT patna had similar no. of caps as IIT(ISM) DHANBAD, it could have touched 5k easily.

The above points are sufficient in itself for you to take a wise decision.
