I did a hiring manager focus group recently and the most common theme about new computer software engineers (CSE) is being able to apply the theory and “book learning” to solving problems. The next most important is organizational culture adaptation. Lastly, team work. All of these three can be sharpened by internships and work experience. Another degree won’t work.
