Hey! I am currently pursuing engineering at SIT Pune, so I guess I can answer this question. I took admission here because I dint have any other option (my acads were kinda low and I dint prepare for JEE, but scored well in CET). Frankly I was happy with the college, because symbiosis is a name almost everybody knows, the campus was great, Pune is obviously a great city.. nothing seemed wrong. I thanked my stars when I joined.
But soon you will realize, college life isn’t about the college’s brand value, its location, the campus….or anything close to that. yes they are an integral part, but trust me, even if you have the best campus and the best college and you don’t make the best of it with your own efforts, its pointless.
SIT is over a decade old, so one might judge, but regardless, there are plenty of opportunities here, and one needs to put in efforts to seek them out, and make the best of them. The college really can’t hand it to you in a silver platter. Same goes for placements, if a student builds himself, learns extra languages (coding) and softwares, participates in various events (plenty in SIT), takes up projects, goes out of his way to build his CV, they will definitely get a placement. Be sure to stay focused throughout, its easy to get side tracked in such a happening place with various types of people.
