I am a sophomore undergraduate in CSE at IIT Gandhinagar. My 4th semester just ended. Here are my views.
- Teaching: I have been taught by professors from the EE Department and the CSE Department for my core courses. I can, with full assurance say that the teaching was really good for most part of the courses. Every Professor tried to engage with the students as much as they could and were there always, to help the students on any issues relating to any matter.
- Exams: This is very interesting here. We had untimed exams for our first course on Data Structures and it was memorable, needless to say. There were 5 Questions and I remember myself staring into them for hours continously having no clue as to what to do, till I eventually gave up :P. Note that this comes from someone who just praised the professors for teaching really well. They taught very well and gave a reasonable number of examples to ensure that we developed the intuition for algorithms, but, the exams were, simply put, of a “different level”.
