I am a BTech CSE student at Bennett University. I joined Bennett in 2019 hoping that it would be something good and would be worth at least half of the fees my parents have paid. But no, it isn’t. Not at all.
I’ll mention the pros and cons and then you will understand why I said what I said:-
PROS:-
- Excellent Engineering Faculty and Scope for Research:- Most of the professors in the SEAS(School of Engineering and Applied Sciences)are very good and the ones in are even better CSE. They will help you with whatever you need. They are easily approachable and supportive and you can even start doing research with them if you have an inclination towards that field. We have an Nvidia DGX V100 (Deep Learning Supercomputer) which you can get access to easily if you have a good project idea.
- Coding culture – Considering the age of the university the coding culture is very good. Many teams from Bennett have won several hackathons at many reputable institutes. We even have a student who is currently in his 4th year who was participated in GSoC twice. However, this is going down the drain as the years go since anyone who wants can get admission here as long as they pay.
CONS:-
- Extremely high fees:- If you don’t have a scholarship the total fees will come around to about 5,60,000 for the 1st year and 5,00,000 for the each of the remaining years(for Engineering) and for the other schools(Management, Law, it will be around 1 lakh less.
- Food:- The hygiene in the mess is very bad. I will attach a couple of pictures which you can see. Also, there are very few food outlets you can go to if you don’t like the food in the mess. which are extremely overpriced and tasteless. So basically be ready to lose some weight unless you have enough money to order from Zomato every day. Furthermore, no non-vegetarian food is available within the campus.
