VIT college is famous for innumerable things but I will mention the major once here:
1. Placement: Vit is famous for its placement. Most of the students get placed at the end of the 7th and 8th semesters. Many reputed companies visit the campus for placement throughout the year. You will see almost all the companies here that visit IITs ( packages do vary). Students bagging multiple job offers are a common sight. The number of core companies visiting the campus is also high.
2. Papers Publication: The number of paper published throughout a calendar year is highest in VIT because of the fact that both teaching and curriculum is designed in a way that focuses on research and eases the process of publication.
3. Number of students/ Diversity: You can’t deny the fact that the amount of students entering VIT in a year is the highest in the country. Alone CSE has 1200 students electrical department has a batch size of 300–400 students every year. You will find students from every corner of the country hence a diverse culture.
4. Rules and regulations: VIT is also famous for its uncanny rules, strict timings and Red Tag Anna’s ( PDA guards), and provision of very strict punishment for violating the rules and for disciplinary action including malpractice unwanted elements (cigarettes, alcohol, etc) found inside the hostel room. Straight semester backlog for violation of any of the above-mentioned rules.
