Summer term for students in first,third ,fourth or fifth year of engineering is basically a 2 month program during which students can complete courses worth 10 credits and the courses selected for a summer term are based on the requests of the students willing to register for summer term.Students usually make use of this to pass uncleared courses,to improve CGPA,to lessesn the burden in the following sem etc and this isn’t compulsory if you have cleared the courses in time!Its of course not free you will have to pay for the 10 credits irrespective of the number of credits u register for and also have to pay hostel charges.For second year students its called PS1 which is like summer internship program and this is compulsory if the student wants to do PS2 which is a paid 6 month internship in their last year of engineering.All the best 🙂
