The above refers to everything that you should do for clearing the exam. What should you avoid doing?
-Don’t study one subject from too many books. That will take too much time and will not really help in the long run. Select 1–2 recommended books per subject and stick with them.
-Don’t mug up. If you understand concepts then it will be easier to commit them to memory.
-Don’t let your doubts persist. Conceptual clarity is key for the exam and if you have doubts you need to get external help from your peers, teachers, coaching classes et al. Now is not the time to be shy or egoistic.
-Don’t doubt yourself. Nobody is perfect. People preparing for the exam are just like you. Please don’t overestimate them and underestimate and undermine yourself.
-Don’t read topics in depth at the final stage of revision if you haven’t done it already. I would recommend not leaving anything out till the end but if such a situation does arise then its better to prepare strategically.
-Don’t follow a particular sequence for answering the exam. You need to do the questions that you think are easy and scoring first instead of trying to do every question in ascending order. You can always mark down questions and come back to them later. It goes without saying you should have practiced enough online mock tests to be able to do this.
Also, you can’t be egoistic while solving your paper. If you can’t solve it then you have to move on to something you can solve.
