Take CSE and if you are above average then 8lpa shouldn’t be any problem.
Mechanical companies used to come till 2013-14 .Now, only limited companies come and in VIT people below par get the job first in my experience….never be proudy or overconfident incase you have 9.5 above cgpa in any of the dept. What matters is how much you learn and not your cgpa. Although for cut-off for companies like Mckinsey,cisco you need 9 cgpa.
