Let me talk about IIT Bombay’s placements – EPIC (13 out of 18 are MTech’s), Google US+India (4 out of 9 are MTech’s), Xerox labs India (3 out of 3 are MTech’s). This year Microsoft has cut down the number, otherwise every year IITB see around 50% MTech’s.
Do you also know that many MTech students do not apply for US profiles because of family responsibility, etc. This doesn’t make them dumb.
Do you think IRL and Xerox labs are hiring them for namesake.
To tell you the truth, I’m a BTech student at IIT Bombay and I feel really ashamed of my friends who feel very proud by passing such comments about matkas. I’ve seen many BTech’s who just feel happy by calling MTech students dumb (I think you are one of them). But this doesn’t change the reality.
I’ve worked with 3-4 MTech students for my various projects and I feel that the general perception of BTech students about MTech’s is very wrong. An average BTech student is above an average MTech student; but there are students in MTech who are as smart as cream layer of BTech’s, and there are also students in BTech’s who are as unintelligent as MTech’s
