What is the most inspiring story from IIT Indore?

  • 0

I remember having never-ending discussions about our disappointments and ‘sufferings’ in the institute when we had just joined IITI.

Having wasted 2 years of life surviving the rat-race, IIT was supposed to be the heaven, the portal of endless opportunities. Just this entry was meant to secure our lives, career-wise. Some of us were dreaming of Hi-tech labs, some wanted sports facilities, many were wishing for lightning speed internet, few wanted a gigantic library and a few of them were hoping for a college where Karan Johar did his movies…

On the orientation day, about hundred dreams were shattered!

There wasn’t anything which could delight us in any way. We had our moments of frustrations. We felt betrayed.
Few months passed.

And then, magic happened. Not suddenly, but gradually.
Instead of ‘demanding’, people started ‘proposing’ things. Instead of crying about problems, they started becoming part of the solutions. Having a Dharna was no option. They worked with the bureaucracy and built things. Various clubs, SESC, La Fresco, labs, facilities, other structures/ bodies /teams… You get the idea.
