What is the greatest disadvantage/advantage of choosing IIT Mandi?

Everything in life you come across will have positives and negatives. Life will be better if you focus only on positives 🙂

Keeping aside the philosophy,here are some of the pros and cons of IIT Mandi.
PROS

1. You get to live in one of the most beautiful place in the world.

2. You will get to learn a whole load of inter-disciplinary subjects( more than other IITs) apart from your core courses, which will help you gain inter-disciplinary knowledge.
3. Due to less number of students compared to other older IITs, you can approach the faculties easily and discuss anything with them,ideas,projects,what courses to choose,etc.
4. Branch change opportunities are very high. Just in case you realize that CSE is not your ‘it’, the lenient branch change rules help you a lot. You just need to maintain a good CGPA.
5. Collaboration with world famous technical institutes.
   Every year, a lot of students from IIT Mandi go to countries such as Germany, Sweden, etc. for semester exchange programmes. One of them is the Technical University Munich.
