What is an associate general counsel?

The sequence of events during MBBS counselling is as follows :

Mock round :

  1. Choice Filling
  2. Mock allotment

1st round :

  1. Choice filling
  2. Allotment of college
  3. Reporting at the help centre/designated college for submission of documents, original as well as Xerox

2nd round :

Same as first round but remember, the seat you left in 1st round won’t be available again. Also if you already submitted the original documents, no need to retrieve them from old college and submit to new college. Your identity and other proofs (HSC Marks, NEET Marks, etc.) were already verified during 1st round. They’ll be transferred to the medical council. But yes, you need to again submit xerox of those documents at newly admitted college.

3rd/Mop-up round :

  1. Visit to the help centre as this is an offline round
  2. Selecting the college from available seats
  3. Submission of documents, original as well as Xerox (only if you didn’t report at help centre before in any of the rounds)

1st and 2nd rounds are online while last one is offline. Whole process is quite smooth and you won’t find any difficulty.

A very important note – Please keep sufficient number of xerox copies of your original documents before submitting them. I’ve seen during my 1st year people running for the original documents because they don’t have xerox for University form.

All the best !

P.S. This process is as per Gujarat and is similar in most states but minor changes may be present.
