I got t-boned by a guy going probably 30 to 50 mph and I wasn’t wearing a seat belt. I heard him honk his horn about one millisecond before the impact and I fucking knew I was dead. The world went blank for a moment and there I was clinging to the wheel too shocked to move let alone breathe. I got hit so damn hard my car spun all the way around and I walked away with no more than two small bruises, one on my thigh and one on my forehead right above my brow. The man that inspected my car for the insurance company was shocked to know I was alright and to the insurance’s knowledge I was wearing a seat belt. For days afterward “I should be dead” was playing on a loop in my head, and I still have no idea how I walked away from that experience completely fine.
