Thanks for A2A. I’m from SRM as you already know from my profile but, believe me when I say that I’ve a lot of respect for VIT as well. Both these are one of the best private universities of India and produce some fine engineers in all fields. That being said, I can’t comment directly on the branch of Biotechnology. Firstly coz it’s an unconventional/specialization branch and secondly coz you’ll hardly find students speaking highly of this branch from SRM or VIT. It might be a field that interests you, but if you ask me for my advice… I’ll suggest you to go for a conventional branch and then plan your masters in Biotechnology. I don’t mean to undermine the branch you want to opt for, I’m just trying to convey the fact that it may not be of any help when you go for searching a job 8 out of 10 times.
