Well, talking about problems, we have no shortage of problems. Let me list a few of them. Most of us come here with very high hopes that we are going to an IIT but at the end we just realize that we have just stepped into a yet another engineering college, that is treating its UGs like primary school students.
- The internet is very very slow. Oh sorry! Very very slow, to all the people who use it. But in the website, they have mentioned a parallel universe. The LAN is available only from 5 30 PM to 2 30 AM in the hostels, and the speed is also disgusting, around 200–250 kBps. And WiFi….Wo kya hai??
- The ex-director, chairman and the other people at the top echelons preferred the earth science guys over the other branches. They are taken for trainings expeditions and for field and industrial exposure. But for the others, finding a suitable place to get involved in a summer training or internship is tedious effort.Lets see what happens with the new director.
- ISM has great recognition across the borders. Yes, its true, but as ISM not as IIT(ISM). There isn’t a single MoU that has been signed by this institute that is not related to earth sciences.
