Your question gives an impression that you lost a battle and are now looking for a surrender deal. But it can’t be any more false.
Placements are just one of the many forks on the road after your college. Getting a good (or rather any) placement from your college is an achievement, no doubt; but I don’t want to exaggerate it any further.
After college, there can be several avenues. Such as-
PLACEMENTS:
There are lots of people who voluntarily give up college placements, just to explore newer fields and discover their “passions” (passion is an overrated word, I didn’t use it too judiciously here), which is a perfectly normal thing to do too. When I say, newer fields, I mean looking for placement in a profile different from their graduation major.
Also, people use time after college to indulge in part time jobs which could open newer avenues for their career ahead.
Other than that, there is always an option for off campus placements. But, such placements depend a heck lot on personal contacts and expressibility, so we’ll keep it reserved in the side section for a while.
