When you think about Goa as a tourist, following things come to your mind:
- Beaches with a good “sight” 😉
- Rave parties.
- Cheap alcohol.
Right? But, it is more than that, way more than that.
I studied in BITS Goa for 4 years. Now, going out on weekends depends upon how busy your campus life is, and I don’t mean academics here. Even if you have high goals for you in terms of grades, you can always take it easy on weekends. Okay let’s get to the interesting part.
On a weekend in Goa, you can
- Get a taxi, go to a nice beach and have dinner at a shack with a big group (most freshers do this)
- Rent a scooter and travel Solo.
- Roadtrips. Rent self drive cars from local contacts. (you can ask your seniors for their phone numbers). This is one of my favorite, but it might be a little heavy on your wallet. But the drive is just amazing, so it’s all worth it.
- There are some nearby places which are a little dangerous /shady to go. But these places end up becoming hubs for Bitsians gradually. (Stonewaters and Hollant Beach)
