What are the best books for NEET UG preparation and AIIMS?

  • 0

I think so there is no better book than NCERT. But will that be sufficient to crack exams like NEET and AIIMS?

Big No!

NCERT textbooks are your best friends for NEET theory preparation. Majority(almost all) questions are related to the topics mentioned in NCERT. Every serious NEET aspirant to learn each word of NCERT by heart. I even used to make my notes and highlight points in NCERT book only instead of preferring any reference or coaching module. I even used to cover all the questions including examples from NCERT.

But let’s accept the truth!

NCERT is not ultimately designed for your NEET or AIIMS preparation.

It is designed keeping in mind your board syllabus. For a highly competitive and difficult exams like NEET and AIIMS, there is one thing that is missing in NCERT.

.

.

.

That’s MCQ practice.

A perfect balance of theory and MCQ practice is the key to crack NEET.

I would suggest you to practice as many as MCQs from each topic from some authentic medium. Apart from that, don’t forget to practice at least previous 15-20 years paper of NEET, AIIMS, AIPMT, JIPMER etc.

NEET and AIIMS are repetitive in nature and therefore previous year papers are must.

One thing that I had noticed during my preparation is that the reference books or guides available in the market don’t usually have the questions from recent previous year papers and practice questions from the latest pattern. I would therefore advise you to take help from some online website and app as they usually have the updated content. During my preparation, I used to practice MCQs from Darwin as they more than 20 years of previous papers of NEET, AIIMS, AIPMT and other such medical entrance exams including the recent ones. I usually suggest this app to my juniors and you can also give it a try as it is for free.

And yes, make sure to properly revise your NCERT highlighted notes in the last some months of preparation. Also, appear in as many as mock tests as possible.

Remember! Understand the basics of topic first and then practice the relevant MCQs.
