This is a fabulous place to be doing your undergrad. A lot of exposure. Both in terms of academics and co-curricular. You’ll walk into the gates of Manipal University Jaipur as a timid 12th pass, wondering if it is the right choice, limited in vision and probably a bit anxious.
MUJ will not only open new horizons for you, but it will also expand your vision, thereby enhancing your personality. And so, I can say with absolute certainty that you will walk out of this college as a different person. As a better human being, more skilled and better developed.
But,
For that, you’ll have to take care of your academics very well. Generally speaking, as freshers come every year, they are awestruck by the social and cultural life MUJ presents. And they get involved in each and every activity that happens in MUJ, apart from studies.
So, the best piece of advice anyone would give to you if you are coming straight as a fresher is to take care of your academic grades right from the start. Because if you do not score well in your initial semesters, your whole college life will be gone in improving your GPA, with no satisfactory result afterwards. And academics, my friend is what you’ve come to Manipal for. Not for those social nights where the DJ bangs the trending music. Not for the fests. But for your career.
I’m not saying that you do only study. That’s not what colleges are for. They are for developing yourself so that when you walk out of the gates one last time, your character shows off!
But if you do not get decent grades in some of your initial semesters, your entire engineering becomes a struggle! And that is not how it is supposed to be. Engineering is all about fun and developing yourself and making the best of every day so that you remember those days for the rest of your life.
So go on. Have fun. These are going to be some of the best years. Make sure you savour every moment of them. Make sure you make them count. But, never forget to maintain that balance. Grades are important, you see
